ELE Limited Receivership Impact on Migrant Workers

Publish Date: 29/12/2023

ELE Limited is a significant skilled labour agency in construction and manufacturing, has entered receivership.

Immigration New Zealand is addressing the impact on 365 migrant workers with Accredited Employer Work Visas. As of December 29, 317 are in New Zealand, and 48 are overseas.

The numbers are updated following a thorough data reconciliation, excluding workers on open work visas or New Zealand residents/citizens.

Efforts are underway for lawful stay in New Zealand and exploring options for overseas workers, with collaboration among the employer, employees, and stakeholders.

Special attention is given to exploring viable options for the 48 workers who are currently overseas. The affected workers include builders, labourers, and carpenters.

Data is updated after reconciliation, excluding open work visa holders or residents/citizens. Ongoing support is provided to navigate challenges caused by the receivership.
