GET Program: Overseas Engineers Welcome in Queensland

Publish Date: 02/12/2023

Engineers Australia is seeking expressions of interest from overseas qualified engineers for the Queensland Global Engineering Talent Program (GET).

GET is a response to Engineers Australia's research showing that 47% of migrant engineers actively seeking jobs are unemployed.

The Queensland Government is co-funding up to 20 positions in GET, focusing on clean energy roles.

GET includes a six-week preparatory course with engineering standards training and a 12-week paid internship at an engineering firm.

The program helps engineers apply their skills in an Australian context, adapt to local regulations, and build networks within the industry.

Employers in Brisbane and regional Queensland are offering positions in clean energy, civil construction project management, electrical, IT, and more.
