  • Skilled migrants must submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for state nomination.
  • Changes to Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)
  • Onshore applicants must be living and working in regional Victoria at nomination.
  • Some outer Melbourne suburbs are included in regional zones.
  • If not selected in 2022-23, a new ROI is required for subclass 491.
  • No changes to the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) program.
  • Review partner points and salary responses in existing ROI.
  • ROI does not equal application; the program is highly competitive, with no fixed selection timeframe.
  • ROI remains in the system for potential selection until withdrawn or chosen.
  • The program is set to close in early 2024, exact date pending confirmation.
