Australia's Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, has won a second term in office. His party, the Labor Party, received strong support from voters, beating the Liberal-National coalition led by Peter Dutton. The election focused on issues like the cost of living, healthcare, and housing.
Dutton, who lost his seat in the election, accepted responsibility for his party’s defeat. Albanese’s victory marks a rare achievement as it’s been over 20 years since a prime minister won back-to-back elections in Australia.
The result also shows continued support for the Labor Party, with Albanese set to lead the country for another term.
