Alberta Invites Candidates for Provincial Immigration in April 2025 Draws

Alberta’s immigration program has been busy in April, conducting three draws within the first two weeks. 81 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in these draws, with a targeted focus on healthcare professionals. These draws took place through three separate streams under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).

Key Draw Dates and Outcomes:

1. April 1, 2025 – Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry)
   • Invitations Issued: 34
   • Cut-off Score: 60
2. April 4, 2025 – Alberta Express Entry – Priority Sectors (Health Care)
   • Invitations Issued: 19
   • Cut-off Score: 71
3. April 8, 2025 – Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Non-Express Entry)
   • Invitations Issued: 28
   • Cut-off Score: 53

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued invitations through both Express Entry-aligned and non-Express Entry pathways, targeting healthcare professionals with job offers in Alberta.

Eligibility for Healthcare Professionals

The eligibility criteria for candidates under both Express Entry and non-Express Entry pathways include having a valid job offer in Alberta, meeting Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 for language proficiency, and meeting the minimum professional requirements set by the relevant regulatory bodies.

Eligible healthcare professions include:

• Physicians (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta)
• Registered Nurses (College of Registered Nurses of Alberta)
• Physiotherapists (College of Physiotherapists of Alberta)
• Occupational Therapists (Alberta College of Occupational Therapists), and more.

For the Express Entry stream, candidates must meet a CRS score of at least 300 and have a health care occupation listed in their Express Entry profile. Candidates applying through the non-Express Entry stream must meet the minimum qualifications required by the relevant regulatory body for their occupation.
