Canada aims to welcome 485,000 permanent residents in 2024 as part of its Immigration Levels Plan for 2024-2026.

  • New guidelines and multi-year plans for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) starting in 2024, providing better planning opportunities for provinces and territories.
  • Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) targets increasing to 32,000.
  • IRCC aims to enhance the client experience through technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), reducing processing times, strengthening partnerships, and improving service standards.
  • Reformed Letter of Acceptance (LOA) verification system for study permit applicants and a review of the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.
  • Creation of a new role Chief International Talent Officer (CITO) to improve alignment between Canada's immigration system and national labour market and sectoral strategies.
