Western Australia- The Most Desirable State For Skilled Migrants

The Australian Government

Mon, 04th September 2023

Western Australia is a vibrant and energetic country full of opportunities waiting for you to explore. It generates employment opportunities and provides qualified individuals with secure, high-quality positions in a range of industries throughout WA, for professionals and tradesmen of all levels of competence.

The Government of Western Australia has already declared that they are overhauling its immigration policy to support industry demand and draw more talented workers as the skilled worker shortage continues to harm the Australian economy. Due to these modifications, Western Australia will become a very desirable jurisdiction for talented immigrants in the future.

Federal Government has set up minimum migration requirements where each state can apply for additional criteria. Some of the relaxed visa requirements include:

  • Waiving off the $200 application fee
  • The employment contract reduced from 12 months to 6 months
  • To demonstrate sufficient funds reduced the applicant's requirements
  • Removing the English requirements for the manager and professional occupations
  • To attract more skilled workers in WA reducing the work experience requirements

Additionally, 100 more occupations have been added to the Skilled Occupation list for Western Australia, out of which 46 are added as health occupations. Others include ICT support engineers, taxation accountants, and driving instructors. Distribution managers, supply managers, hairdressers, and safety inspectors.

Perth, a city on Australia's west coast, is well renowned for having a good quality of life, a lively urban atmosphere, a pleasant temperature, and convenient access to some of the nation's best beaches. Perth also draws a large number of new temporary and permanent residents each year since the metro area has one of the highest living standards in Australia, one of the lowest costs of living in Australia, and a thriving economy

Innovation initiatives across several sectors are being fueled by increasing stimulus and corporate confidence in the job market in Perth. With the introduction of new employment, numerous chances for professional development, and long-term interesting and rewarding career trajectories, this has produced the ideal working environment for ambitious job searchers.
